Our destiny is not our enemy.

I don’t mean to be Chicken Little but tomorrow’s eclipse definitely exudes a sense of ‘the sky is falling’ as I’m sure you’re already feeling. Confrontation is inevitable though it may not look like broken dishes and tears (of course, with Mars and Uranus in a square, the potential for explosive energies can not be underestimated). Sometimes confrontation is a subtle nagging in your gut that something isn’t right and sometimes it’s unspecified anxiety welling up from deeply buried fears that have been ignored for too long.

Whatever the case, tomorrow’s lunar eclipse is one of those moments of destiny, one that life has been preparing you for throughout the last year of the current Saturn-Pluto world transit, and more directly since the solar eclipse two weeks ago. The eclipse takes place on the Cancer- Capricorn axis, a sign that we are being called to address our relationship to the concept of ‘need’. Cancer nurtures, Capricorn withholds, but both teach us what it is we need out of life, relationship, and spirit. We are at a crossroads of two paths, one of solace and comfort, and one of effort and solitude. We must choose wisely.

This lunar eclipse is conjoined by Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn, while Venus and the Sun oppose the trinity. Good things will be lost and in the space cleared new things will take root, however they will be slow to sprout. Love is on trial, friendships struggle, and immediate satisfaction is sublimated in service of long term gains. With Mercury retrograde, communication is not the usual way forward and in fact will probably confuse matters more than anything. The only thing to do is turn inward, feel all the feels, and slow down. Running into the hard edges of fate hurts more when you run blindly, full steam ahead.

Our destiny is not our enemy.
